Midfielder, Valter was a Santista and was sought by Vasco to fix the connection of his defense with the boys from the front, at a stage when the "Turma da Colina" was going through an offseason.
With the end of the "Express of Victory", the team almost unbeatable in 1952, the new times were studies and attempts to give a strong new "squad" to the "Admiral."Válter fell very well in the Vasco "meiuca", reaching to score six goals in the first seven games of the Carioca Championship of 1955, one less than the leader of the firing squad.
It was against St. Kitts, for the third round, on August 21, that he scored what he considered his most beautiful goal.As he told reporter Sérgio Lopes – No. 912, in "Esporte Ilustrado" – Laerte sent Sabará, who escaped on the right wing and crossed the ball into the "Targets" area, covering defender Jorge, Who jumped and did not find the ball. With everything in hand, Valter sent a bicycle and the ball to the right corner of the ineluctably beaten goalkeeper Neném.
The goal came out when the score was 1 x 0.
The beautiful goal is part of the history of the Rua São Januário stadium (funds), was nicknamed by Ivan Capeletti, earned Cr $ 88 thousand, 741 cruzeiros (the currency of the season) and had Valter coming out three times to embrace - Pinga and Parodi completed the 5 x 0 of the round in which coach Flávio Costa climbed: Vítor Gonzalez, Paulinho and Haroldo; Laerte, Orlando and Dario; Sabará, Valter, Ademir Menezes, Pinga and Parodi.
The most beautiful goal was one of the attractions for the magazine readers
